WHYTES CITRUS | Grid Tied Solar PV Microgrid

OVERVIEW:

Whyte Citrus was battling with double-digit electricity increases and interruptions with their power. We reduced multiple supply points from 5 to 1 with a rooftop Solar PV Microgrid installation on their packhouse. The microgrid generates energy which is used to power irrigation, a packhouse, staff houses and the farmhouse, ensuring a reduced reliance on the national grid and a secure energy supply.

SIZE: 109 kWp Solar PV

SAVINGS:

  • Reduced energy requirement from the national grid to curb the rising costs of electricity

  • Reduced admin and service charges

  • Bulk electricity supply to buy power at a cheaper rate

  • Change in tariff structure

  • Demand management through a diversification factor

ENERGY SECURITY: Centralised generator system

MOUNT: Rooftop
